So, Andy is gone for a week with Janelle to the Dominican Republic on a mission trip with Mission of Mercy...I'm so excited to hear the stories when they get back about how God used them in the precious children's lives. I can't stress how AWESOME I think it is that they had the opportunity to take the amazing story of Christ to the DR. I know they were both excited and nervous when they left. You can check out Facebook.com/TheHouseFM to see updates and video of their adventures! I'm sure they would appreciate your prayers as well.

While they are gone, we are doing a child sponsorship drive with Mission of Mercy & our goal is 100 kids sponsored. Pray about it, see what God would have you do and then take action! Help us reach the goal and change these children's lives - Click here to see more info on sponsoring children.

As for here at the station...it's quiet. Plugging along, working, blowing through the work hours with all the silence. It's good but makes me sad...please come back soon, Andy & Janelle!

There are only a few times in my life where I have had absolutely no idea what to expect. Going to college, getting married, moving to Oklahoma for a job... everything else I can picture how it will work in my head.

For example, I know when I get home tonight, I will walk in the door, open the fridge, grab a hot dog, put it on a plate, place the plate in the microwave, set the microwave for one minute and hit start, take the hot dog out and put it in a bun, add mustard and ketchup, and finally enjoy the hot dog.

I can mentally picture this series of events and know of the outcome, tasty meat-like flavors satisfying my appetite.

With that said, I am really nervous about going to the Dominican Republic in a week, because I can't imagine what it will be like. I can't mentally walk through what landing in another country for the first time will be like and what I will see when I step out of the airport. I can't emotionally prepare for the Children we are going to try to reach who dig through the city dump all day for a living. I can't spiritally fathom what God might to to my life.

I usually don't worry, but I am worrying now. not because I am afraid of something bad happening, but that God is going to turn my world upside down and after many years of being a so-so Christian light something inside me that changes everything.

So if you happen to be eating a hot dog anytime in the next week I hope that you would take a moment to pray for me and the entire Missions Trip Team as we step out into the unknown and have faith that God's hand and guidance will lead.

All of us are worshipers of something. It's that simple. We're created, designed, and wired for worship. Being human is to be a worshiper.

Worship is a posture of the heart. It's an attitude of loyalty and trust toward something or someone in your life that you believe makes life worth living. So, we all worship something or someone. This is true whether you consider yourself to be religious or not, spiritual or not, Christian or not. Typically, whatever we worship is our "non-negotiable." It's that one thing, should we lose it or part with it, which would bring both devastation and hopelessness.

What you choose to attribute ultimate worth to—what you choose to worship—depends on what you fear the most. If you fear loneliness, you worship relationships. You depend on them to save you from a meaningless life. If you fear not being accepted or esteemed, you worship your social network, the way you look, the car you drive, or the amount of money you make. You depend on these things to validate your existence. If you fear insignificance, you end up worshiping your career or your accomplishments.

Behind everything you worship is some fear that, without this person or thing, you'd be lost. Life wouldn't be worth living. Either you believe your life would be meaningless without your friends, or your career achievement, or your children, or your possessions, or your social status, or whatever, or you believe your life wouldn't be worth living without God, because you know he alone can provide everything you need (and, in fact, long for).

We're all worshipers—but God is the only reliable object of worship because nothing and no one extends things like God does in the person and work of Jesus Christ.

What, or who, do you worship?

I was playing basketball at the Y and I actually scored a basket, one of the other players made the comment that I had a little "Pau Gasol" going on.  If he was talking about Pau's moves, that is definitely a compliment!

But then I started thinking about how he has the same unkempt facial hair as me and realized that maybe what the comparison was.  Judge for yourself:

I love this new song we're playing on The House FM. Great reminder to shine with His love everyday.

Luminate - "Shine"

I want to strike a match
Let it burn ‘til the world’s on fire
I want to see a chain reaction
And see the flames burn higher
I want to see Your Word alive
I want to see the orphans laughing
Want to see the sinners cry
Surrounded by the hands of mercy
The hands of mercy, so

Shine, love is an action
Shine, oh, it starts with a passion
‘Cause we want to be a heart that’s pure
So all will see that we are Yours
Shine

And though it starts with one
There will be a million candles
There will be millions more
Singing with the tongues of angels
The light of Heaven falling down
Spreading love to the darkest places
I want to strike a match
And watch it bring salvation
I’m gonna lift my light up high

(Love is an action)
I’m gonna let my love burn bright
(It starts with a passion)

I’m gonna lift my light up high
(So all will see that we are Yours)

I’m gonna let my love burn bright
(Let it burn, let it burn)

I want to strike a match
Let it burn, Let it burn
I’ll let it burn

*Strike a match of love today - let it burn like wildfire.

I had a chance to reach two different people at church on Sunday and didn't.  Now I have to live with that decision.  Was the stepping out of my comfort zone that would have come from talking to them tougher than the regret I have to live with now?
