The transformation to becoming brent mccoy is almost complete. We are looking at getting a dog on Wednesday. check out this crazy combination of Terrier and Basset Hound:

It's got a terrier head and basset hound body! RUN FOR THE HILLS! She definitely won't be able to keep up.

We are going to name her FDR, because Colleen said that sounds like a good name.

I am compiling a gripping photo essay, whenever I see J-izzle do something that makes me laugh. Here are a few:

Putting paper clips on ornaments? Awesome.

I didn't get the picture of her taping the dollar bills to the movie passes, but here is the finished product.

She is funny.

I'm doing the morning show this week, so The all request house party lives on, but J-izzle and I will resume our posts next monday, January 5th.

If you have ordered anything online and are patiently waiting its arrival, check out this website:

All you need is your packing tracking number (from ups, usps, fedex, or DHL). You enter it at boxoh.com, and it comes up with a cool map of where your package is in transit:

Apparently, my wife's Christmas present is going farther away from Oklahoma.

But this could be a great thing to show your friends and family that, yes, your package is coming... and this is exactly where it is!

So there is this product I saw earlier this year that I first laughed at and thought: why would anyone want this?

It was the "Slanket"

Then... about a week ago, I thought... wow it is cold! I want one, and I want to get one for my college age brother! What a great gift right?

Well now they are out of stock at their website!

When I mentioned this on the house fm, I got lots of helpful calls from people who said they knew where to get them. apparently, there are already a lot of imitation slankets, including the one I may have to go with : the "snuggie"

note that one of the uses is "cuddle" and for whatever reason, the baby is not the one in the slanket, um I mean, "snuggie"? I may not have a choice but to buy the cheap rip-off. If you find a real slanket lying around on the interwebs, please let me know!

It feels like a show and tell day, so here is a plethora of random pictures, along with short explanations of them.

I finally visited the Oklahoma City Memorial. I didn't get nearly enough time to explore. Next time I'm bringing my nice camera and taking lots of pictures

My wife, Colleen, in front of the Sonic WORLD headquarters in Bricktown. Her new goal is to have her picture taken in front of company headquarter buildings.

I talked about this on air today. This poor charlie-brown-like Christmas tree cost a city in britian $400! and was voted "The Worst Christmas Tree in Britian"

it looks like it will be replaced. Follow the link to see an even worse picture of the tree.

I have a hard time plunking down ten bucks for a CD of bands I have not heard of, or even sometimes of bands I LOVE, but not quite sure what their new music sounds like. Here are three places to pretty much listen to any song or CD known to man!

  1. Jesus Freak Hideout Listening Party - They usually have a good selection of new christian CD's, so if you're not quite sure what you want to listen to, this is a good place to start
  2. FREE Napster - this is an awesome place that has most anything you are looking for, and you can stream music for free, as much as you want! Downsides are a lower audio quality and some songs only have 30 second clips... if you run into those problems, there is one last place to go:
  3. Rhapsody - High quality music that always have full songs... but you only get 25 free listens a month!
And of course there is a fourth which I highly recommend:

LISTEN TO THE HOUSE FM ALL THE TIME! WOOO!

youso, out.

It's the guys from Leeland and Rainn Wilson (Dwight from the office) in the Baltimore airport. This is how I imagine this conversation taking place:

Leeland dudes : Hey! Dwight!
(Rainn keeps walking because he has his ipod on and can't hear)
Leeland dudes : Dwight from the office! Hey!
Rainn : Uh, hey guys, what's up?
Leeland dudes : Can we get a picture with you?
Rainn : Sure.
(picture taken)
Leeland dudes : Awesome! Well, see ya later!
Rainn : Ok, bye. (puts headphones in again.)

So I couldn't think of a funny conversation, at least one that I could transcribe. I was thinking about some bit about the Leeland guys asking Rainn if he had ever heard of their band, but I couldn't make it funny.

Interesting thought below:
Maybe Rainn was listening to Leeland at that moment? Would that make the Baltimore airport turn into a black hole, one which may begin to get larger and soon consume okla

I am planning on trying to mess with their results by making up diseases. Some ideas:

  • Benjamin Button syndrome (where people age in reverse)

  • Carformerphobia (the fear of getting into your car because it may crush you when it transforms into its alter-ego)

It is time for another entry in this series as I found myself going down a trail of odd websites... let's figure out how I started looking for the film style of "independence day", to this:

STEP 1:

I was searching for the film style of independence day, after talking to my wife wanting to do a photo series of a post-apocalyptic Ponca City. I got this inspiration after riding my bike yesterday past the old flour mill and thinking "this is what the post-apocalyptic scenes would look like"

So I talked to my wife and she said that the film style like "I am Legend" and "independence day" which brought me to google.

STEP 2:

I googled "post apocalyptic filter"

that brought me to this website, about how to make your videos look more like film:

Shoot Video to Look Like Film

good thing to keep in mind for my project, but I had to go a little farther down the google hole to find this:

Post-apocalyptic playground

The comment on that picture led me to google for "infrared filter" which brought me to :

How to shoot IR

where I found out that some cameras can see IR transmissions, like this example:

That helped, but the pictures there still didn't look post-apocalyptic. They looked more like black and white.

Then I found this site which talks about false-color infrared:

False Color Infrared Photography

Step 3:

By this point I just gave up and went to this blog search of "post apocalypse"

and found that picture above, along with some tips on how to survive post apocalypse, including:
  1. Get a Dog
  2. Stay Solo (not sure if I agree with this one)
  3. Learn to make a fire
  4. Stay away from dating websites like "zombie harmony"
  5. Get a Gun
  6. Learn to make biodiesel
Wow, what a waste of time, right? unless.... I need to know what to have in a post-apocalyptic emergency! Then I'll be the envy of all my... wait I won't have friends, I will the the only person alive. Other than my dog and my gun of course

Have you ever found yourself asking that question? Or my wife when I show her something absolutely random - her first question is:

How did you find that website?

Usually I have no idea how, it just happens. Through the magic of the internets and googles. But I wanted to reconstruct how I came up with this awesome combination of james bond and rick astley:

Step 1 - The Idea

Last night, I told my wife I had figured out what my halloween costume would be - Rick Astley with outfit from this famous music video. Including 80's boombox with "never gonna give you up" blasting from it!

Step 2 - The google quest

I went to the old stand by, google, to help with finding how to do a good rickroll costume- I googled "rick astley halloween costume"

The first result was a site which somebody thought would be useful to someone. http://www.costumzee.com/tag/rick+astley/

that was not useful...

farther down the google searches, I found - http://superpunch.blogspot.com/2008/08/desktop-wallpaper-rick-astley-is-james.html

Where that awesome image from above came from.

That still didn't help me, so I ended up using google images and found this picture:

BINGO!!!

80's striped polo with blazer and khakis? that is all thrift stores have, right?! I'll come back with a full report about what I find today, including total cost for outfit - later this week.

I'm going in style to The Festival of Light in Enid!
